Making it Pawsible Walk-a-thon

Firemens Park, Mountain Rd.
12pm
The Niagara Falls Humane Society is a no kill shelter providing a safe haven for pets in limbo, before
they are placed in a new home. The Society tries to alleviate the suffering of all animals and to eliminate
euthanasia as a method of population control for pets. At the NFHS, no healthy adoptable animal
will ever be euthanized.
The Niagara Falls Humane Society helps find loving homes for unwanted and mistreated animals, as
well as trying its best to reunite lost pets with their rightful owners. We also provide many community
services, such as a vibrant volunteer program, pet visitation to seniors and special needs groups,
summer day camp, education programs, a foster program, and many more.
The Walkathon entails a non-competitive walk by people with or without their dogs. The event also
includes vendors and a silent auction. This year the walk is at the beautiful Firemen’s Park on Mountain
Road in Niagara Falls. You can participate by collecting pledges and walking with or without
your pet! Pre-registration is required. All walkers must be registered by September 25, 2010 in
order to participate.
Anyone registered by September 25, 2010 is eligible for a draw for a $200 gift
certificate from Canada One Outlet Mall! Anyone with pledges or donations over $100 will receive a
T-Shirt! Make sure to bring your pledges to the check-in tent before the walk. Check-in opens at
11:00 am. Prizes will be awarded to the top four individuals who raise the greatest amount of
pledges! After the walk, enjoy browsing the many vendors who will be there, check out our silent
auction and grab some lunch at the Stamford Center Volunteer Firemen’s Association concession
stand!
