Colour:

Sex:

DOB:

Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
Hi Friends, My name is Faux Paw and I am a shy 2 year old boy. I was a homeless guy living on the streets, cold and hungry, when I was first brought to the Humane Society in January. Although very timid at that time, I was adopted on March 16th. My new family said I didn't get along with the baby so I was returned to the Humane Society on April 7th. Since my return I have been working very hard with the volunteers to learn to trust and have become quite relaxed now and have graduated from my private enclosure to the big area with all the other kitties and visitors. It's a lot more fun in here. Although I'm not so timid now I will require a quiet adult home with loving and patient owners who are prepared to give me the time I need to settle into my new home. I really am a very lovable kitty who will just need time to adjust. If you would like to get to know me just let one of the volunteers know and they can help you with that.

Lady Antebellum

Type:
cat
Breed:
himalayan mix
Colour:
beige/grey/orange
Sex:
female spayed
DOB:
6 years+
Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
She is stunning to look at, with her bright blue eyes and unique coat. However, with that coat comes a lot of maintenance, so due to the matting on her back that she had when she came to us, it was more comfortable and easier to shave her. Don't worry Lady - it will grow back beautifully! Lady is a bit cautious with all these other cats around, so she may come off as moody, but she is actually very sweet! She likes to snuggle up beside you on the couch and bury her face under a blanket. She also likes to be brushed.

I gave him a bath and he never moved, he thoroughly enjoyed the nice scrubbing I gave him. Dutch is very smart and learns very quickly, he heels nicely. He is a lot of fun to spend time with, affectionate and out going I'm sure he will go far. He will make some special person a wonderful companion to do things with or just hang out. Dutch is awesome!!!

Myrtle

Type:

Breed:
domestic short hair
Colour:
grey
Sex:
female spayed
DOB:
May 2010
Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
Hello my friends. My name is Myrtle and I and a very friendly young girl. I was brought to the Humane Society on April 7th when a kind human found me living on the streets. It was a struggle out there and you had to be a bit tough in order to take care of yourself. You can imagine what it's like with so many strays all trying to find food and shelter over the cold winters. I'm one of the lucky ones because somebody brought me here. Because of my past I do not get along with other kitties - at all. I can become very aggressive and will start fights when I am with them. That's why I am here in this lovely enclosure by myself. I do LOVE humans though and crave attention from them. If you are looking for an affectionate kitty and have a home with no other animals (I don't care for dogs either) please let one of the volunteers know and they can introduce us. Myrtle requires a home with no other cats or dogs.

Artemis

lab mix
Colour:

male neutered
DOB:
5 years
Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
Artemis had a great day at the grand opening of Niagara Falls’ leash free Dog Park representing NFHS. He was accompanied by his support network, team leader Renee Cote and the Dog Enrichment Program volunteers. Trainer Judith Beam helped him show off his social and obedience skills to an admiring crowd. Our handsome boy was very impressive! The whole team was so excited to give him the opportunity to run free in the beautiful new dog park. He was a perfect gentleman and enjoyed every minute of his freedom running around and socializing with his new pals. What an incredible treat for a shelter dog. Artemis is going to be a wonderful pet for the lucky family who adopts him. We all enjoyed spending time with the easygoing, affectionate, comical fellow. Judith says"“ I can not say enough good things about this dog. He is very polite with other dogs, loves kids and is very easy going. I handled him all day at the opening of the dog park. He took everything in stride and just rolled with it. I was actually asked if he was a therapy dog. He is that good! “ Deanna and Alisha share"After being adopted Artemis was returned to our care at the Humane Society. We have no idea why because Artemis is a big loveable guy. He has stolen the hearts of everyone he has come in contact with. He is playful as well as eager to learn. Artemis has been involved in the dog enrichment program, picking up quickly on sit, stay and he heals nicely on walks. He's enjoyed visits to the leash free dog park, where he socialized great with the other dogs. He's very friendly even with kids. Artemis would be a wonderful addition to any family."
