Little Bonita has made such great strides in releasing her inner pup! When I think of the first time I met her, and all she would do is peek at me from the back of the kennel, whereas now she is all wiggly with joy when I approach her and anxious to get into her little harness so she can go walking. She runs in circles on the end of her leash, she's so excited to be outside. While toys don't seem to interest her, she does like to pick up small sticks as we walk, and will jump on them when I toss them for her. She loves to sit in my lap and give kisses, and sits on command for treats. Today we were working on shake-a-paw. With a calm, patient approach from her human buddies, Bonita has the potential to blossom into a wonderful friend for her forever family.

Merle is a transfer from North Carolina and his foster mom wrote to us and shares this : Merle was our foster dog at the end of August. I was worried that with school starting back it was be difficult to bond because our lives immediately went from slow and relaxed to busy busy. Merle eased right into our family. We went for lots of walks in the afternoons which were much needed for both of us. My 6 year old daughter loved to sit and brush him...although with Merle's short hair it wasn't needed much but he loved the attention and would soak it in as long as she would give it. We discovered that Merle loved soft toys and he has been our first foster ever to play fetch. He would chase AND return what we threw to him. It was lots of fun to see him engage with us and get so excited to play games. He knew when it was time to walk too and he was eager to get into the car for those extra long walks at the park. He is such a gentle boy, he was perfect when my kids would have friends over. I think he knew that it was just more attention for him.

This is what Ray has to share about Avery: "Avery is a very gentle 3 year old girl who enjoys being gently brushed. She's a very social cat and when someone comes into the room she always goes to visit them. Avery gets along well with our other cats and likes playing with string toys and jingly balls. If she's allowed, she really enjoys being on the table with us when we do our paperwork."

Dog Walker Phyllis spent time with Tiny and had this to share:Here is a lot of fun and energy in a small package! Tiny loves to speed along on our walks, and has an amusing way of hopping in the grass. He loves his treats, and has become a fan of the ever-popular rubber chicken toy, chasing it over and over again. He still has his shy moments, and easy does it works best as he can be startled by sudden movements. Tiny weighs 14.6 pounds.

She's one of our most recent arrivals. When she first arrived she did not try to hide, she walked over to me, meowed a hello, and pushed up on her hind legs to meet my hand as I lowered it to her. She'll rub against you, reach up for you to pet her, and if you stand beside her she will stand and stretch up to you as high as she can. Mrs. B will become a member of your family immediately and you'll always have someone to talk to."
