Amber has lived at the shelter since June 2009 since she had to have surgery on her hip this past year. She is a sweetheart, she loves to run, she walks really well on a leash, and she loves to chase. She's a real cutie, she's affectionate, and well-tempered. Amber is friendly and loves to go for walks. She sure loves to give kisses! Amber would prefer a home without other dogs or cats, but she loves all people! Bailey has been living at the shelter since June 2009, and there has been little interest in this wonderful old dog because of his age. He is a very laid back guy who still has his energy, though he is older and doesn't get around quite as fast as he used to. He loves to be brushed and he likes to go for walks. Bailey LOVES a good scratch above the tail! He's a happy, mellow, lovable little gentleman who will win your heart in an instant. His beagle nose is always to the ground, and he loves to follow a good scent. Bailey will require a fenced yard and a home with no children to retire to. He was very shy to begin with but blossomed when we were outside. Corporal is a very handsome dog who was really nice to walk. He didn't pull on the leash at all. It will take time and patience before he gains his confidence, but Corporal came a long way today and will improve daily. He would be an excellent companion to someone who wouldn't push him, but love him as he is.

Cujo is amazing, he loves everyone, and he knows his commands. He's a completely fabulous dog. Cujo doesn't live up to his name; he's very gentle and sweet, does amazing with kids, gets along great with smaller dogs, and loves to play fetch. He tends to tire after about a half hour of playing, so he won't need as much exercise as a younger dog. He's low-maintenance but full of love and joy. Cujo is housebroken.

Dallas is such a little sweetheart. He has the enthusiasm and playful energy of a JRT without being out of control! He knows how to behave himself, and he's very loving and easy to be around. He always wants to play with big toys like soccer balls even though he's just a tiny boy, and he loves to play fetch. He's certainly good natured! Dallas gets along well with some other dogs and likes to have attention from children, though he may do better in a home with children over 5 years since he doesn\'t like his ears pulled. Dallas does not get along with cats and may not be suited to apartment living since he barks when left alone.

Dasher is a really sweet girl, who doesn't like to share the spotlight. If you sit on the ground she'll walk right up and carefully place her paws on your chest and give you kisses. Volunteer Linda recently spent some time getting to know Fozzie. He was a little reserved at first because he didn't know me. He turned out to be a nice little guy who was easy to walk on the leash. Fozzie enjoyed being patted. I found him very attentive, he made eye contact with me often. He would be easy to teach new things. Fozzie would be an ideal companion for almost anyone. He has lots of personality!!!

Giggles is scared and shies away from people at first, but she is not aggressive and will come out of her shell if someone is very slow and gentle with her. She is already becoming comfortable with roaming the enclosure while the volunteers are around. Giggles is a real sweetheart once she gets to know you and trust you. She adores when you pet her softly and purrs so sweetly. She likes when people talk to her in a quiet, gentle voice, and she responds to her name when you call her. Giggles likes to be held really close to your body as it makes her feel safe. She also enjoys hiding in small space where she can feel safe. If it gets too loud for her she will hide her head in your arms or neck. Giggles has had a pretty tough life and she is such a wonderful girl who really deserves a caring and understanding home.

Grizzly is a very lovable dog who is itching to be the center of attention. He's our big, sweet Grizzly Bear! Grizzly has a happy face and a huge huggable body. Because of his difficult past, Grizzly would like an owner who has experience with his breed so that he can be understood and cared for best. He does need to go to a home with no children and needs to be the only pet in the home. Grizzly also needs a home with a fully fenced in yard.
Volunteer dog walker Linda has spent time with Grizzly and observes: Grizzly is a real sweetheart and has the nicest personality. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who is willing to spend the time training him. Grizzly sits and downs on command and is always willing to please. He is a lover boy!!! Grizzly is very strong and really pulls on the leash. He is over weight and caution should be taken when he is outside; he will also need weight control food. He wheezes a lot so he should be kept to the shade and given lots of water to drink.

Lucky is very smart and will walk over to her leash when she wants to go for a walk. She knows how to sit, but when you call her to come over, she will only come on her own terms! Such a funny dog. When she's worn out from a good walk, she'll roll around in the grass and just lay next to you for a while. She is always excited to see new people, and she is housebroken and good with other dogs.
